Andrew Alvarez has been with Melton International Tackle for over a three years, serving as International Tackle Specialist. He possesses vast knowledge of saltwater fishing, particularly the waters off Baja, Mexico. Over the past 13 years, Tracy Melton the founder and owner of Melton International Tackle, has established himself as one of the world’s more successful and recognized big game anglers. Specializing in stand up angling, his accomplishments include the capture of the first "stand-up grander" marlin ever taken (1,083lb. Blue Marlin taken in Madeira Portugal in 1995), 3 Big Eye Tuna weighing over 250lb and 2 Yellowfin Tuna over 200 lb. He has amassed an impressive tournament record including first place finishes in the 1991 Kona Gold Jackpot (506 lb Blue - Kona, HI), 1992 Hawaii Light Tackle Challenge (Kona, HI), 1994 Firecracker Open (247 lb. Blue -- Kona, HI) and 1999 Los Cabos Billfish Tournament (645 lb. Blue, 1042 Total Points -- Cabo San Lucas, Mex.), placed second in two of the world’s most competitive big game tournaments, the 1993 Lexus Black Marlin Classic (7 released Blacks -- Cairns, Aust.) and 1998 Bisbee’s Black and Blue (498 lb. Blue -- Cabo San Lucas, Mex.) and taken third in the 1996 World Cup Blue Marlin Championship (569 lb. Blue -- Madeira, Portugal). Tracy has been awarded "Top Release Angler" 3 times in the past 4 years, at 1996 Cabo Gold Cup, the 1998 Bisbee Alumni Challenge and again at the 2000 Bisbee Alumni Challenge. Tracy graduated from the University of Southern California, class of 1991 with a B.S. in Business, having participated in the prestigious USC Entrepreneurship Program. He founded Melton International Tackle in his parent’s garage in 1993.
