I fish around the islands of the Seychelles constantly and found that the new Torque range has been outstanding. On charters we target large reef and pelagic species such as Dogtooth Tuna, Giant Trevally, Sailfish, Marlin, Yellowfin, Amberjack and much more. The TRQS9 has outlasted 2 of my Stella 18000's and has a much smoother drag release.

Its not a Stella but if this represents a return by Penn to what it does best i.e. make good solid workhorses I cant wait for future uppgrades. I was fishing for Mekong catfish up to100 kg at Bungsamran Thailand and these fish pull like mack trucks, slow and very strong. The Torque held its own and the drag remained effective even after 3 days of abuse. I would recommend it as a good solid reel and for those old Pennsters amongst us that good solid feel has returned.
