I was surf fishing in Cabo San Lucas and had been getting a few fish with metals and poppers. A Mexican friend that was fishing with me asked if I had seen the new waxwing which I hadnt. He let me borrow one and my whole day changed. We were catching 5 to 30 lb jacks and roosters in the same spot of on the beach where I had previously only caugh a couple. Now we were pulling them in about every 5 to 10 casts. Simple amazing. I now own 6 wax wings and headed to Oahu, Hawaii. Thank you Shimano

Living in the Capitol city there is not alot of salt water around without a 3hr drive. So I took the lures out to Lake Calaveras and Lake Buchanan for a test drive. No room for both pics, however the one shown is the most recent. 10lb 24" Striper caught on the Green Shad boy. The other was a 15lb 30" Red caught on the Black and Gold boy. Looking forward to more intense inshore action along the coast hunting for Reds and Trout this weekend.

Took these out to Coronado Islands and slayed 'em. Caught our share of bass thats for sure. Can't wait to break these out for next years tuna season. My buddy has a enormous swimming pool and when we have our taco night I am gonna show 20 or so friends how awesome the action on this bait is. Worth the price. I have 12 in JR and Boy in 6 different colors.

The" Waxwing" has a nice swimming action, it can be tossed, jigged, or trolled. Took a newbie out and he couldn't believe the action we got. Tried all the old faithfuls first real slow action so switched to the Waxwing and couldn't keep the lure in the water! Did so well that I ordered a new set that evening and as I am writing this review my new order arrived at my door four days later!! This is a must have in the arsenal definitely brings up the fish!

Waxwing

I fished the new Waxwing at the Coronado Islands. It worked great catching sandbass, I let the deckhands try it (George and Amado) on the boat called "The San Diego 3/4" and they thought it was gnarly! I cannot wait to catch a yellowtail and tuna on them. I fished it with a 9 ft Phenix rod rated for 15-40 lbs and a Trinidad 14 with 30 lb Izor blue line. They swim incredibly well, and if you have no experience tossing jigs this is the jig for you. Thanks, Dr Ray
