Changing settings on the Shimano Calais DC Reel is simple. Press the Escape Hatch button on the left rear of the reel to fine tune your desired cast setting mode - either X (Extreme Distance), L (Long Distance), A (Accuracy) or W (Wind). Eight different settings on the outside of the Calais DC allow you to further refine the reel's brake application on the water.
